The Katsina State Internal Revenue Service in collaboration with Charanchi Local Governmebt Area Council organised a Stakeholders Engagement on Informal Sector Revenue Collection today 26th August 2025, at Charanchi Local Government Secretariat. The Stakeholder Engagement unveiled the piloting of the Informal Sector Revenue Collection that will commence on Sunday at the Charanchi Weekly Market.
The Executive Chairman of Katsina State Internal Revenue Service, Alhaji Mohammed Isyaku has inaugurated the Charanchi Local Government Revenue Committee. The Seven-man committee has Directors of revenue-generating departments , a retired civil servant, and Area Revenue officer as members, among others.
The Executive Chairman, represented by the Executive Director Revenue Operation, Almustapha Bishir Rafindadi in was company of Executive Directors Corporate Service and Standard of Compliance Hon Murtala Mohammed and Dr Kabir Abdullahi, urged the committee to work in harmony to monitor revenues generation that accrued to the Local Government are collected and accounted by ensuring the full utilisation of the Point of Sales (POS) terminals that will be deployed for the Collection of the revenue.

The occasion was utilized to present to the participants present the revpay application system deployed for the electronic collection of the Informal Sector Revenue in the State.
The revpay solution step by step process flow was presented in order to check leakages and ensure transparency in the collection and remittance of taxes, fees, and levies across Katsina state.
The Access Bank team engaged by the State for the Informal Sector Revenue Collection explained the detailed process of registering a customer to the point of payment, others who contributed during the session, include Executive Director Standards and compliance Dr Kabir Abdullahi, Director ICT Awaisu Karoni.
“Charanchi market projects are designed to support revenue growth and empower local businesses.”

The Secretary of Charanchi local government Alhaji Aminu Isyaku, who stood in for the Executive Chairman of the Local GovernmentCouncil, disclosed that presently the local government has engaged different developmental projects worth Billions of Naira in Charanchi main market to boost the Local Government internally generated Revenue.
The programme is expected to continue with the remaining 33 local Government Area Councils upon successfully piloting the project at Charanchi Local Government.
